Wikipedia, what the problem is ?

Jimmy Donal Wales

Who ?

No, “The Who” is actually really British !

(as opposed to some “furreigner” who plops across the pond, wants to pound one of your pelts after a celebrity hunt, pops it in his bonnet, pip-pips about, and mounts it up on his rented wall along with what’s left of his balls)

I’m writing, of course, about “Jimbo,” the one who got away . . . Thankfully

The recipient of the write-up earlier this year in The New York Times [1] (Oh, pithy !!)
——————————————————————
Wales, who no longer runs the day-to-day operations of Wikipedia

“He applies his libertarian worldview to the Internet and has taken on institutions like the United States government
——————————————————————
You must be bloody well right joking me

(joking me ? Quit jokin’ me !)

JimCrow’s ’bout as “libertarian” as Fidel Castro with a gun in his hand and (f)lies between his teeth; from traveling with the windows down

Stephen Colbert shoulda seen that comin’ from a 8 mile away

Hey Stephen, Report’ THAT !!!
——————————————————————
“He grew up in Huntsville, Ala., the son of a teacher and a retail man

And obviously, he didn’t “learnt” well

I think a refund’s in order

And here’s your free school Insolence to go with it

Happy eat in’

It is claimed that “HE” spends time:
——————————————————————
“traveling the world giving talks on free speech and Internet freedom
——————————————————————
seriously ?

Seriously ??

SERIOUSLY ???

Welcome to MizFitTV

What would “Jymboree” know about “free speech” and “Internet freedom,“ anyway ?

How many days did you serve your country in the United States military ?

Oh, you did NOT realize that while you were in San Diego, you could have signed that contract ?

After all, he’s no Vincent Kennedy McMahon”

——————————————————————
Introduction (statement of principles) [WP:SOP]

“This is a statement of principles from Wikipedia founder Jimbo Wales, as updated by the community since then”
——————————————————————
(Or if you go by The New York Times article, [1] Jimbroni is the co-founder” who tries to re-write history to make it appear that “HE” is the one-and-only Fascist Founder ?)
——————————————————————
“I should point out that these are my principles, such that I am the final judge of them”

This does not mean that I will not listen to you, but it does mean that at some ultimate, fundamental level, this is how Wikipedia will be run”
——————————————————————
No, actually, it DOES mean that he will NOT listen to you, as was the case when he ignored my 2/7/2013 appeal

In his defense, perhaps Kate Garvey has his balls
——————————————————————
Principles

1. “Wikipedia’s success to date is entirely a function of our open community”

“This community will continue to live and breathe and grow only so long as those of us who participate in it continue to Do The Right Thing

Doing The Right Thing takes many forms, but perhaps most central is the preservation of our shared vision for the neutral point of view policy and for a culture of thoughtful, diplomatic honesty
——————————————————————
The problem with this Wacky Tobacky “We are the (Wiki) World” WikiWhOReD Wonderland Jimbroni’s living in, is that “HE” has NOT been Doing The Right Thing since “HE” abdicated “his” “neutral point of view policy” and “culture of thoughtful, diplomatic honesty,” to “The Skeptics”

“The Skeptics,” who serve as gatekeepers of the Burzynski Clinic article, and who cite Dr. David H. Gorski a/k/a “Orac” aka GorskGeek as if he were a “reliable source”

“The Skeptics,” who bring new meaning to the term “Wikipedia Zero”

“The Skeptics,” who are Intellectual Cowards like their false god Gorski, the Closet Communist of Science-Based Medicine a/k/a Science-Basted Medicine aka Science-Based Mudicine (Spinning Bowel Movement), Wiki Wordsmith Wannabes, nut-jobbers, stale from their failure at the National Peanut Festival in Dothan, Alabama
——————————————————————
3. ““You can edit this page right now” is a core guiding check on everything that we do”

“We must respect this principle as sacred”
——————————————————————
Do the lies just dribble off your chin like phlegm?

You canNOT just go in and “edit” the Burzynski Clinic article “page right now”

That statement is pure, unadulterated Alabama B.S.

That’s NOT a “sacred principle,” it’s sacré “bull”
——————————————————————
7. “Anyone with a complaint should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity”
——————————————————————
Unfortunately, you do NOT practice what you preach, do you, HYPOCRITE ?
——————————————————————
“They should be encouraged constantly to present their problems in a constructive way”
——————————————————————
So that you can ignore the problem(s), right, Jimbroni ?
——————————————————————
“Anyone who just complains without foundation, refusing to join the discussion, should simply be rejected and ignored”
——————————————————————
THAT would automatically exclude all of “The Skeptics” now, wouldn’t it ?
——————————————————————
“We must not let the “squeaky wheel” be greased just for being a jerk
——————————————————————
Jimbroni, why have you allowed “The Skeptics” to choose from their “squeaky” wheel-house bag o’ tricks, get all “greased” up and jerk” so many people around in such a big CIRCLE-JERK, for so long?
——————————————————————
8. “Diplomacy consists of combining honesty and politeness

“Both are objectively valuable moral principles”

“Be honest with me, but don’t be mean to me”

“Don’t misrepresent my views for your own political ends, and I’ll treat you the same way”
——————————————————————
“Honesty” and “politeness” are really great buzzwords,” Jimbroni, but they are as foreign to your “Skeptics,” as “moral principles”
——————————————————————
A great example of the questionable “honesty” and “moral principles” of one of your apparatchiks, was demonstrated 2/3/2013, 6:56, when I sent an arbitration appeal e-mail to Wikipedia, advising, in part, that the e-mail listed on Wikipedia; as the one that blocked users should use, did NOT work, because there was NO “@” sign in it

There was a . (period) where the “@” sign belonged

——————————————————————

20131212-173821.jpg

20131212-173851.jpg
——————————————————————
Check the “time” and “place” where you are, so that you, too, can advise, that according to Wikipedia, pointing out to them that the e-mail they advise people to use, DOES NOT WORK; because there is no “@” sign in it (instead, there’s a . (period)), translates into meaning:
——————————————————————
“Everything you have said in that e-mail demonstrates a misunderstanding or misreading of Wikipedia policy”
======================================
Core principles

Wikipedia:Simplified ruleset [WP:SR]

Wikipedia does not have its own views, or determine what is “correct”

2. Founding principles:

“Neutrality is mandatory . . . “
——————————————————————
I call B.S.

Neutrality is mandatory,” EXCEPT on the Burzynski Clinic article, controlled by “The Skeptics”
——————————————————————
4. “Ignore all rules (IAR):”

“Rules on Wikipedia are not fixed in stone”
——————————————————————
Especially when Jimbroni allows “The Skeptics”
to “dictator” the “rules”
——————————————————————
“The spirit of the rule trumps the letter of the rule

“The common purpose of building an encyclopedia trumps both”

“This means that any rule can be broken for a very good reason, if it ultimately helps to improve the encyclopedia”
——————————————————————
And “The Skeptics” are NOT required to provide ANY reason for having broken “any rule”
——————————————————————
“It doesn’t mean that anything can be done just by claiming IAR, or that discussion is not necessary to explain one’s decision”
——————————————————————
But do NOT expect Wikipedia to require anything from The Skeptics”
——————————————————————
Founding principles

1. “Neutral point of view (NPOV) as a mandatory editorial principle”
—————————————————————–
EXCEPT when it comes to the Burzynski Clinic article
——————————————————————
12/26/2012 – I attempted to get Wikipedia to reference the interview which Burzynski’s attorney, Richard (Rick) A. Jaffe, and Lola Quinlan’s attorney; who posted it on his web-site, had given: [4]

20131213-073026.jpg
Please add re WP:NPOV that Burzynski’s attorney, Richard Jaffe has disputed Lola Quinlan’s claims:

“On February 1, 2012, Dr. Burzynski’s attorney, Richard Jaffe, disputed Lola Quinlan’s allegations on Houston’s KPRC News.”

“Nobody else is doing meaningful work on it” ?

Ignores independent research done in Poland, Russia, Korea, Egypt, Japan, & China which specifically reference SRB’s publications in their publications re antineoplastons & phenylacetylglutamine (PG); which is AS2-5, & includes phase III trials published in China & continued research being published in China 12/17/2012?

FACTS:

1. I pointed out to Wikipedia, a 12/17/2012 scientific publication re antineoplastons, which referenced Burzynski @ 22. (antineoplaston AS21)

2. 7 days after this scientific journal was published, Wikipedia’a “Guy (Help!’s) ”response, Monday, 12/24/2012 @ 3:54 pm, is to advise me:

“What they mean is that nobody else is doing any meaningful work on it, which necessarily means that it’s not considered in the least promising.”

Guy (Help!) 3:54 pm, 12/24/2012, Monday

3. So, Wikipedia’s, Guy (Help!), defines an event having been published 7 days ago (12/17/2012 to 12/24/2012) as:

“…nobody else is doing any meaningful work on it…”

The Guardian has NO problem whatsoever allowing the comments of individuals like Robert J. “Bob” Blaskiewicz (@rjblaskiewicz) who embellishes The Other Burzynski Patient Group (TOBPG) in order for his “stories” to sound better

I caught him doing this

See below for what happened afterwards and The Skeptics’ reaction

I deleted unnecessary portions for ease of reading

Here is the FALSE statement rjblaskiewicz inserted:
——————————————————————
”They initially might have had a difficult time finding a place to stay because refugees from Hurricane Katrina had been arriving in Houston, but they were set up in an apartment:”

So when he puts in the Disclaimer:

“All information posted here was either freely available online or in the press at the time of writing”

he does NOT advise the reader that he might be adding a FALSE comment

Did you actually read The OTHER Burzynski Patient Group?

@iDJiT: Long-Winded
——————————————————————
I’m guessing this is addressed to me

if you were actually paying attention & comprehending what has been posted on this blog you would know that I have already visited that other BlatherBlog & was immediately turned off by the author’s inane sidebar commentary
——————————————————————
Other BlatherBlog?

The only other blog the iDJiT has mentioned is Pharyngula, and the only other blog I’ve mentioned is The OTHER Burzynski Patient Group (
http://theotherburzynskipatientgroup.wordpress.com/ .

Here’s the disclaimer on the sidebar of The OTHER Burzynski Patient Group):
——————————————————————
“Disclaimer”

“This website is NOT affiliated with the Burzynski Patient Group, the Burzynski Clinic, or the Burzynski Research Institute”

“Those are all awful”

“Nor does this site mean to represent the views of any of the Clinic’s current or former patients or those of their families or loved ones”

“All information posted here was either freely available online or in the press at the time of writing”

“Please follow the links included and hear the patients’ stories in their own words as well”
——————————————————————
I wonder why the iDJiT, who claims not to be a fanboy of Burzynski but just interested in seeing all sides of the story told, would be turned off by this

The blogger states very clearly that he is NOT affiliated with Burzynski or any of Burzynski’s PR operations

He needs to state that so he doesn’t get sued for infringement

The blogger observes that “Those are all awful.”

That’s his opinion (with which I heartily agree), but it’s expressed politely without cursing or gutter language

The blogger then goes on to say that he doesn’t represent anyone else and that the information is freely available (i.e., that he didn’t breach anyone’s privacy, another statement he needs to make to avoid being sued), and he urges the reader to follow the links so they can see that he is not misrepresenting anyone

LW,

DJT meant he was turned off by Bob B.’s very insightful commentary that illuminates each patient’s case story
======================================
#127 Didymus Judas Thomas January 21, 2013

Yeah LW, THAT is soooooi incitefull!!!

”They initially might have had a difficult time finding a place to stay because refugees from Hurricane Katrina had been arriving in Houston, but they were set up in an apartment:”
======================================
#92 Marc Stephens Is Insane January 20, 2013

Not that I would EVER claim to speak on his behalf

I just remember a comment he posted on the “Technicality” thread about being turned off by a comment about Hurricane Katrina or something and how it affected a Burzynski’s patient’s ability to secure a hotel room in Houston

He said he stopped reading after that
======================================
#93 LW January 20, 2013

@Marc Stephens Is Insane :

the iDJiT said s/he “was immediately turned off by the author’s inane sidebar commentary”

So I looked at the sidebar and all I found was the disclaimer

But perhaps you’re right

Still, only a fanboy would be turned off by the commentary

“Kudos to whomever put this website together.”

Yeah, I was SO impressed when right off the bat I read:

”They initially might have had a difficult time finding a place to stay because refugees from Hurricane Katrina had been arriving in Houston, but they were set up in an apartment:”
======================================
#100 LW January 20, 2013

Oh, so on Dec 26 (twenty-five days ago), the iDJiT looked at The OTHER Burzynski Patient Group ( http://theotherburzynskipatientgroup.wordpress.com/ ) and consequently should not be expected to ever look at it again

Nor should anyone suppose that the iDJiT could ever learn anything new from later posts on that blog

Right

That makes sense to me, actually

It explains a lot about the iDJiT
======================================
#131 Didymus Judas Thomas January 21, 2013

I actually have more important things to do than keep checking up on some web-site you may be plugging since the Society of Mutual Agrandizement needs someone to entertain them here where less thick-skinned individuals are run off by the non-fact cited tu quoque Tu-Quackers who pat each other on the head in mutual admiration thinking that if they post enough GIGO it will actually come true

Someone needs to give y’all a “reality check” & I’m happy to do it though I don’t have the time to even address all the inaccurate statements on here

There are enough of you anti-antineoplaston bloggers that you need someone on here to remind y’all that there are actually resources available on the net which you can access before foaming at the mouth

So, has your pal stopped posting inane comments about people maybe finding room in the stable to stay because the inn might have been full?
======================================
#129 Marc Stephens Is Insane January 21, 2013

“They initially might have had a difficult time finding a place to stay because refugees from Hurricane Katrina had been arriving in Houston, but they were set up in an apartment:”

One month later and I still fail to see the problem with this sentence and fail to understand how it discredits an entire website full of true stories.
What does bother me is reading how Burzynski sucks his clients dry of every cent they have
======================================
#154 Didymus Judas Thomas January 21, 2013

”They initially MIGHT HAVE had a difficult time finding a place to stay because refugees from Hurricane Katrina had been arriving in Houston, but they were set up in an apartment:”
——————————————————————
So he specializes in postulating theories about someone who “MIGHT HAVE” or “MIGHT NOT HAVE” done

I can understand why you love speculation, because that’s what you specialize in

You’re name says it all

This is like me posting:

“He might have taken a long healthy shat like a bear in the woods.”
======================================
#130 Marc Stephens Is Insane January 21, 2013

All the information on TOBPG site is taken directly from patients’ blogs, websites, newspaper articles, etc

If the patient’s family said they had trouble getting a room in the wake of Katrina, what’s the problem?

Please explain it to me
======================================
#155 Didymus Judas Thomas January 21, 2013

Where did it indicate this in the information from the actual individual(s) involved rather than your pal’s speculation?
======================================
#143 al kimeea January 21, 2013

wtf wow um ok
there’s no real compassion or sympathy is there if It is willing to write off all those heart wrenching stories simply because someone had a hard time getting a room…
======================================
#163 Didymus Judas Thomas January 21, 2013

You obviously didn’t read the blog in question

Come back & try again after you back up your fluff by being able to show that you’ve.actually read the information that’s being discussed
======================================
#145 Marc Stephens Is Insane January 21, 2013

So no answer on why the hotel room/Katrina story bothered you so much on TOBPG site?

I asked you to explain it to me as I really don’t understand the problem

So much for the “intelligent” conversation you’re seeking

I tried to talk to you like a rational adult; I guess I should have known better
======================================
#167 Didymus Judas Thomas January 21, 2013

Get a grip
======================================
#147 LW January 21, 2013

What’s really odd about the comment the iDJiT found so off-putting

(“They initially might have had a difficult time finding a place to stay because refugees from Hurricane Katrina had been arriving in Houston, but they were set up in an apartment:”>

is that it’s just summarizing part of the history from the parents’ own blog ( http://chasesammut.blogspot.co.uk/2005_08_01_archive.html?m=1 ):
“In addition, as we were looking into accommodations for extended stays in the Houston area, we discovered that most hotels, residence inns, suits, etc were taken by people trying to evacuate outlying areas, including Louisiana, due to the hurricane”

“We were very lucky to get a furnished apartment,…”

Like everyone else, I fail to see what is objectionable about this
======================================
#151 Marc Stephens Is Insane January 21, 2013

LW,

I know!

I told DJT that the information on TOBPG all comes from the patients’ own blogs, websites, public newspaper articles, etc. Bob’s comments are there merely to summarize and move the story along

I gave DJT the chance to answer my sincere, genuine, civil question like a mature, adult human

Without the sarcasm, insults, juvenile puns and Tu-Quacking

Maybe if he did answer once in a mature, adult manner people would be more inclined to listen to what he has to say
======================================
#152 LW January 21, 2013

“Maybe if he did answer once in a mature, adult manner people would be more inclined to listen to what he has to say.”

“If” being the operant word there
======================================
#153 LW January 21, 2013

@Marc Stephens Is Insane: “I know!”

I know you know, but the iDJiT seems to be under the impression that the statement about the Katrina refugees was some kind of editorial comment by the blogger

The iDJiT said,

So, has your pal stopped posting inane comments about people maybe finding room in the stable to stay because the inn might have been full?

I checked because I was quite certain that was not an editorial comment

(though even if it had been, I’m not clear on what makes it objectionable)
======================================
#156 LW January 21, 2013

@iDJiT:

“They initially MIGHT HAVE had a difficult time finding a place to stay because refugees from Hurricane Katrina had been arriving in Houston, but they were set up in an apartment:”
——————————————————————
So he specializes in postulating theories about someone who “MIGHT HAVE” or “MIGHT NOT HAVE” done
——————————————————————
Ah, so that’s it

The iDJiT has trouble with idiomatic English

The blogger was summarizing information that was on the parents’ website

The reader could, and indeed was invited to, go over and read the website personally (I did)
======================================
#158 LW January 21, 2013

The parents’ own blog ( http://chasesammut.blogspot.co.uk/2005_08_01_archive.html?m=1 ):

“We were very lucky to get a furnished apartment,…”

“All information posted here was either freely available online or in the press at the time of writing”

Critiquing: Six stubborn myths about cancer

Friday 8/30/2013 11.42 EDT (Science), David Robert Grimes published:

“Six stubborn myths about cancer”

“While these people may be well-meaning but misinformed, there are more dubious outfits such as the Burzynski clinic, which claims to have pioneered a new form of cancer treatment known as antineoplastons”

“Yet since its foundation in 1976, the clinic has produced no peer-reviewed evidence that its wares actually work, and charges patients colossal amounts of money to undergo clinical trials, which is an ethically questionable practice”

“Critics of the clinic have been subjected to threats of litigation”

“Stanislaw Burzynski, its founder, has been sued by former patients for defrauding them”

“Despite this, he is often framed as a hero being suppressed by “big pharma”, tying neatly into the conspiracy fallacy and ignoring the fact that such organisations make substantial profit from very ill people without offering any verified treatment”

Mr. Grimes has NOT impressed me with his knowledge on the subject-matter, but than again, he is only a physicist and researcher

I have yet to have anyone prove me wrong about Burzynski on my blog, including “The Skeptics”

However. I have also caught a lot of the Burzynski Skeptics providing misinformation, disinformation, and misdirection; including an M.D., Ph.D

The Skeptics have been pretty much afraid to engage me on the subject

What do you think of this 2013 homoeopathic cancer study?

P.S.: I see some of “The Skeptics™” showed up in The Guardian comments section, and tweeted about it

How funny!

They deleted my above comment but keep that of others who use similar language
